Birth and Baptism Records for Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties

NOTE: Birth and death certificates were not required in South Carolina until 1915, marriage certificates starting in 1911.  Therefore, other sources, such as newspapers, church records, cemetery inscriptions, may be the only alternative for earlier information; a few areas did keep some earlier records on their own.
