Celebrate Pride Month with Charleston County Public Library

Celebrate Pride Month at CCPL
Article Date
June 3, 2025

This June, join Charleston County Public Library in celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. We welcome you to visit library branches to explore displays, check out the collection, and connect with local resources.

Pride Month is observed each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, an event that sparked the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. What began as a single day of recognition has grown into a month-long celebration, honoring the contributions LGBTQIA+ people have made locally, nationally, and around the world.

Looking for something to read or watch? Explore hoopla’s curated digital collection featuring books, graphic novels, movies and TV shows in celebration of Pride Month. You can access these resources for free with your library card.
