Charleston, S.C. – The Charleston County Public Library encourages the community to visit the library in-person or online to explore and access services and programs in honor of National Library Week, April 3-9, 2022. CCPL offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources that are available at branches or from the comfort of home through our digital collections, virtual programs and more.
National Library Week is a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “Connect with Your Library,” which promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers and other resources.
Libraries of all types continue to go above and beyond to keep their communities connected by expanding resources and embracing inclusion in their programming, resources and collections. Libraries across the country are making a difference in people’s lives by providing electronic learning resources like online homework help and wi-fi access for students and workers who may lack internet access at home. CCPL libraries have free public Wi-Fi, computers and Chromebooks and mobile Wi-Fi devices for checkout. “We hope this week can serve as a learning moment for our community. Many still see libraries as book repositories, but we are so much more,” said Natalie Hauff, Deputy Director at CCPL, who oversees Innovation. “We are community hubs meeting a variety of needs including food insecurity, digital access, health access, professional development resources and much more.”
CCPL offers many titles for checkout in person or digitally, including books, music, movies, magazines, and more. We also provide programs and services including:
