Join us at select Charleston County Public Library locations as we celebrate Read United Day on Saturday, October 7! This event is in partnership with Trident United Way, Dorchester County Library and the Berkeley County Library System. You can experience many literacy-building activities and enroll your child in our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. The program encourages all families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their child before they start kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth helps strengthen language skills and build vocabulary.
Read United Day is taking place at the following CCPL branches from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
- Hurd/St. Andrews (1735 N Woodmere Dr, Charleston)
- St. Paul’s Hollywood (5130 Highway 165, Hollywood)
- Wando Mt. Pleasant (1400 Carolina Park Blvd, Mt. Pleasant)
