Children are invited to participate in a quilting workshop that includes storytelling elements with textile artist Cookie Washington, in partnership with the International African American Museum (IAAM). Participants will learn about a true incident that took place in Charleston in 1867 and participate in a collaborative quilting project during the workshops. Washington will host two workships and different library branches. Check out the schedule below.
- Main Library - Saturday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Otranto Road Library - Saturday, August 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
