CHARLESTON, S.C. - Hospitality and Accommodation employers were some of the first to close their doors due to COVID-19. As one of South Carolina’s largest industries, many of these businesses have started to reopen and there is great demand to rehire with new health and safety measures in place.

Starting with the week of August 26, the Labor Market Information Division (LMI) of the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) will be introducing a six-week series entitled Lifeboat Jobs that will identify the most in-demand industries and jobs available right now.

Based on data culled and analyzed by the LMI Division, DEW identifies these positions as the most relevant to South Carolina job seekers and employers.

LMI will provide help to job seekers by publishing a set of current positions that workers can step into immediately during these unpredictable times to ensure a steady paycheck while considering the next step for their career path.
